Since my ethical reasoning for not consuming dairy is not as embedded in my heart as vegetarianism is, the only way I am going to 100% commit to this is if I write it down. In public. To the 5 people that read this.
Still eating yogurt. That has to stay. But reducing consumption of dairy overall is still beneficial to land and water!
- No purchase of any dairy products (yeah, except yogurt). Use soy milk in coffee drinks.
- No purchase of ANYTHING with any dairy in it at all. Like, boxed rice with bits of milk in it.
- No eating dairy elsewhere when available to do so. No pizza at parties. Avoid the cake (oh boy, need dairyless cake for my birthday).
- Small exception: if your best friend works really hard to bake something for you, eat it.
Betraying the family motto “It’s better with butter.” Oh the shame.
